Articles and Resources : frequently asked questions

These are answers to the questions that prospective clients most frequently ask.

Is it covered by insurance?

No, but if you have a pre-tax health set aside account at work, it will most likely be covered by that.

Will it interfere with my medications?

Homeopathy does not interfere with medications, and you will be asked to keep taking any prescription medications unless and until the physician who prescribed them weans you off them. Sometimes homeopathy reduces the need for medications because it is healing the underlying problem. Medications do not usually interfere with the homeopathic remedy in the system that Begabati uses, which involves taking the remedy every day.

How long will it take to see results?

Of course results vary in individual cases. Many people feel a change at a deeper level before their actual symptoms get better. For example, they may have a sense of well-being, more energy, more self-esteem, or deeper sleep before their specific complaint improves—and these changes often happen within the first week. The majority of clients report improvement in their primary complaint when they come back for their three-week followup appointment; in fact some have experienced substantial improvement at that point. However, some will have had no improvement even at the six-week mark. A small percentage never get results, for unknown reasons.

What results have you had with other people with my condition?

The way homeopathy works—providing information to the body’s healing energy in a way that addresses each individual uniquely—makes it impossible to compare results from one client to another. We can say that homeopathy is more likely to help certain types of problems than others. It works especially well for cognitive, emotional and behavioral problems—provided that there is no actual underlying pathology such as a brain tumor. It also works well for physical problems where the main focus is pain or another sensation, or the way in which the body is not working very well.

On the other hand, structural problems are difficult or impossible to reverse with homeopathy. Something that would show up on an X-ray or MRI is unlikely to go away—for example a large fibroid. Certain things just need surgery or chiropractic adjustments. If you are not sure whether your particular condition is amenable to homeopathic treatment, please call the office. Begabati will gladly refer you to another practitioner or modality if she feels it would be more appropriate for your case.
